Description
Barnstable County will welcome the 27th class of AmeriCorps Cape Cod (ACC) at a Swearing-In Ceremony on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2025, at 12:00 PM noon at the Superior Courthouse Green in Barnstable Village. The ceremony will be followed by a reception and lunch from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the Mary Pat Flynn Conference Room.
This year’s class includes 18 members who began service on October 1st. Members will be placed with towns and nonprofit partners across Cape Cod to support environmental stewardship, public health, and disaster preparedness projects.
The Swearing-In comes as AmeriCorps programs nationwide received renewed federal support. Earlier this month, the federal government released more than $184 million in previously withheld AmeriCorps funds, ensuring the long-term stability of programs like AmeriCorps Cape Cod.
“AmeriCorps Cape Cod is a cornerstone of Barnstable County’s commitment to service,” said Program Manager Misty Niemeyer. “For 27 years, members have strengthened Cape Cod’s resilience while making a lasting impact in our communities.”
