Description
The Falmouth Zoning Board is responsible for guiding land use and development through a master plan and proposing zoning bylaw amendments to address community needs. It grants special permits and variances for uses that deviate from zoning laws. The board holds public hearings on special permits, variances, and appeals related to land use. It also decides appeals of administrative decisions and issues comprehensive permits for affordable housing. As a quasi-judicial body, the board must adhere to state laws and local zoning ordinances.
