Description:
Join us for a whirlwind adventure across the globe as we explore how the National Data Buoy Center builds and deploys buoys to monitor ocean and weather events. Learn about the different buoys, how they are constructed and deployed, and spend a few days in the life of a buoy off the South Carolina coast during Hurricane Dorian. The webinar lasts about 45 minutes with moderated questions and answers throughout. Aimed at grades 2-8, but all ages will enjoy. (Recorded on April 21, 2021)
with LT Lauren Jarlenski and Dawn Petraitis, NOAA's National Data Buoy Center at the Stennis Space Center in Kiln, MS.
**American Sign Language was provided live via a video remote interpreter during the webinar.
