Take a journey to the most isolated archipelago in the world to learn how ancestral Hawaiians shared ecological and cultural observations and knowledge across time and space. This presentation and hands-on activity will explore the stones of this storied landscape, and the oral traditions and relationships contemporary Hawaiians maintain to Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument. We?ll conclude by designing ki?i pohaku (petroglyphs) that represent you, your family, or your community. The webinar will last about 45-60 minutes with moderated questions and answers throughout. Aimed at grades 2nd-6th but all ages will enjoy. (Recorded on May 18th, 2020)
